Science came alive for our curious Grade 7 students at Templer Park International School Rawang (TPIS) as they dove into a hands-on lab session that was truly microscopic magic!
With slides, stains, and microscopes in hand, the young scientists set out to explore what can’t be seen with the naked eye. Their mission? To compare and contrast the hidden structures of plant and animal cells — and discover how tiny building blocks make up every living thing!

Excitement filled the lab as students carefully prepared their specimens, from onion skin and green leaf samples to their very own cheek cells. Under the lens, a new world appeared — green chloroplasts dancing in plant cells, neat rectangular walls, and the round, jelly-like shapes of animal cells.
This activity didn’t just teach them about cell biology; it sparked their curiosity about life itself. Through observation, teamwork, and scientific inquiry, our students learned that science is not just in the textbook — it’s all around us, waiting to be explored!
