Learning about comparing sizes wasn’t just something that stayed within the four walls of the classroom — our Grade 1 young learners took their curiosity outdoors and into the real world, where learning truly came alive!

At Templer Park International School Rawang, our students embarked on a fun and engaging exploration around the school grounds. From observing the natural beauty of plants to admiring the colourful details of our vibrant school mural, they discovered that the concept of size is everywhere!

With excited eyes and eager minds, they compared big and small leaves, spotted tall and short plants, and explored different shapes hidden within the mural — identifying not just what they saw, but how sizes varied all around them. Every discovery became a little “aha!” moment, sparking laughter, conversations, and lots of curiosity.

Through these hands-on experiences, our learners began to see that Mathematics isn’t just about numbers on paper — it’s a powerful tool to understand the world around them. Measuring, comparing, and discussing their findings with friends helped build not only their mathematical thinking, but also their confidence and communication skills.

It was truly heartwarming to witness their excitement grow with every step, question, and discovery. 🌿✨

At TPIS, we believe learning Mathematics should feel like an adventure — one that encourages children to explore, wonder, and connect with the world in meaningful and joyful ways.
