Grade 11 students at Templer Park International School Rawang (TPIS) carried out a series of IGCSE-style presentations to prepare for their upcoming mock examinations. Each student researched a key topic from the IGCSE syllabus and presented it confidently in front of the class.
IGCSE Topic Focus: Human influences on the environment / Ecology & Food Production
The aim of the session was to strengthen students’ understanding, improve their communication skills, and help them revise content through peer teaching.

TPIS students prepared and presented on a variety of environmental and food production topics, including:
🌱 Intensive Livestock Production
- High-density animal farming
- Use of concentrated feed
- Advantages & ethical concerns
- Environmental impacts
🌾 Monoculture Farming
- Growing a single crop species repeatedly
- Benefits vs. risks (pests, disease spread, reduced biodiversity)
- Effects on soil health and ecosystems
🌍 Greenhouse Gas Pollution
- Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides
- Sources of emissions
- Impact on global warming and climate
- Possible mitigation strategies

Students demonstrated great confidence, creativity, and a strong understanding of their topics. This session not only supported their IGCSE exam preparation but also strengthened essential communication and critical-thinking skills across the TPIS classroom.
