Science got hands-on and exciting at Templer Park International School (TPIS), Rawang, as our Grade 10 Cambridge Physics students explored one of the most fascinating physical properties — density!

With measuring cylinders, balances, and colourful liquids at the ready, students calculated the mass and volume of different substances to determine their densities. They applied the classic formula — density = mass ÷ volume — bringing textbook theory to life through practical investigation.

The highlight of the experiment came when the liquids were carefully poured into a single measuring cylinder. As the class watched, each liquid found its place — forming beautiful, distinct layers that revealed a simple but powerful truth: the denser the liquid, the lower it sinks.

What started as a physics calculation turned into a stunning visual display of scientific principles at work! Beyond understanding the concept of density, students also honed their Cambridge inquiry skills, from data collection and analysis to critical observation and teamwork.

At TPIS Rawang, we believe learning science should be as dynamic as the world it explains — full of curiosity, creativity, and discovery. Our young physicists proved once again that the best lessons are the ones that make you go “Wow!”
