This mid-term, our imaginative Grade 9 students lit up more than just LEDs—they lit up the classroom with creativity and innovation!
Led by Ms. Ruth, students took on an exciting Innovation Skills project: designing and building paper circuit greeting cards that light up using simple circuits. The mission? To combine artistic creativity with technical understanding, and bring their designs to life—literally!
Armed with copper tape, coin cell batteries, LEDs, and plenty of imagination, students explored the basics of circuitry while discovering how art and engineering go hand in hand. From heartfelt messages to glowing patterns, every card was a unique fusion of style and science.
This hands-on project encouraged students to experiment, problem-solve, and think outside the box—all while mastering fundamental STEAM concepts. It was a fantastic way to shine a light on the ‘A’ in STEAM, proving that Art is as essential to innovation as any other discipline.
A big shoutout to Ms. Ruth for guiding this bright and brilliant experience!
