Recently, our Grade 5 students at Templer Park International School Rawang Rawang (TPIS) went on a little science adventure around the school grounds. The mission? To explore the plants growing all around us and discover which ones are flowering and which ones are non-flowering.

Armed with notebooks, curiosity, and plenty of excitement, students walked through the garden and pathways, carefully observing every plant they could find. Some spotted tiny, colorful wildflowers growing between the grass, while others noticed plants without flowers, such as ferns and mosses.
Through this fun exploration, students learned that:
β’ Flowering plants grow flowers and often produce fruits and seeds. πΈπ
β’ Non-flowering plants do not have flowers but can reproduce in other ways, like through spores. πΏπ
It was a great reminder that nature is full of variety and beauty β even right here in our school! By simply looking closely, the students discovered that flowering and non-flowering plants each play an important role in our environment.
The activity ended with lots of smiles, sketches, and βwowβ moments as students realized how many different kinds of plants grow all around us. Science isnβt just in books β itβs alive in our TPIS garden! πβ¨
