Stretch, Measure, Discover! Grade 8 Investigates Spring Extension
What happens when you add more weight to a spring? Will it stretch a little, or will it stretch a lot? π€ Our Grade 8 students put their scientific thinking to the test in an exciting hands-on Physics experiment!
βοΈ Putting Physics into Action
Armed with weights, measuring tools, and plenty of curiosity, students investigated how increasing the mass of a load affects the extension of a spring. They also explored how force is measured in Newtons (N) and discovered the relationship between the load applied and how far the spring stretches.
π From Experiments to Evidence
The fun didn’t stop at measuring! Students carefully recorded their results, plotted graphs to identify patterns, and analysed their findings like real scientists. They then put everything together in their own science lab reports, turning observations into scientific evidence. ππ

π Learning by Doing!
Through this practical investigation, our students developed important skills in measurement, data analysis, graph plotting, and scientific reporting. More importantly, they learned that Physics isn’t just about formulas in a textbookβit’s about asking questions, testing ideas, and discovering how the world works!
At TPIS, every experiment is an opportunity to think critically, explore boldly, and learn through discovery. Who knew a simple spring could teach us so much? ππ¬
