At Templer Park International School Rawang (TPIS), learning doesn’t stay inside the classroom—it comes alive outdoors! Our Grade 1 students recently stepped outside for an exciting science activity all about moving things.
Armed with marbles and lots of curiosity, the students explored how objects move by rolling their marbles across the ground. The real fun began when they had to measure how far their marbles travelled—not with rulers, but with their own footsteps! Carefully, they walked from the starting point to where the marble stopped, counting each step along the way.
Laughter, movement, and a bit of friendly competition filled the air as students compared distances and discovered that some marbles travelled farther than others. Through this hands-on experience, they began to understand simple concepts of distance and measurement in a way that felt natural and exciting.
This activity is a perfect example of how we embrace learning beyond the classroom at TPIS. By connecting lessons to real-life experiences, our young learners build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them—one step at a time 🌏✨
