Hold onto your telescopes, everyone! Our incredible Templer Park International School (TPIS) students have officially brought the wonders of the galaxy right into our Rawang campus!
As a core part of our Subject-Based Clubs, the Science Club tackled one of their most ambitious projects yet: building a full-scale planetary system model from scratch! ๐ชโจ
๐จ Where Creativity Meets Chemistry (and Physics!)
Forget boring textbooksโour students got their hands messy for science! Using a mix of styrofoam balls, colorful clay, and recycled materials, our young astronomers transformed simple supplies into a stunning 3D map of our solar system.
Check out these stellar details:
- Scale Masters: Students carefully researched the relative sizes of each planet to ensure accuracy.
- Textured Terrain: Using clay, they sculpted Saturnโs iconic rings and even added surface textures to mimic the gas giants and rocky planets.
- True-to-Life Art: From the fiery reds of Mars to the deep blues of Neptune, the paint jobs were absolutely spot-on! ๐จ๐๏ธ
๐ง More Than Just a Model
While the final result looks like a masterpiece, the real magic happened during the process. This hands-on project challenged our students to:
- Visualize the Infinite: Understanding spatial relationships and the vast distances between planets.
- Problem Solve: Figuring out how to balance and assemble the planets in their correct orbital order.
- Work as a Crew: Just like a real NASA mission control, our students relied on teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility to get the job done. ๐ค๐ฐ๏ธ
๐ Why We Love Our Science Club
This project is a perfect example of how our school makes learning fun, memorable, and interactive. By turning complex scientific concepts into a creative building project, our students didn’t just learn about the solar systemโthey experienced it!
