Templer Park International School’s students went on a fun-filled trip to the KL Bird Park on March 9th, 2023. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful birds in Malaysia.
The KL Bird Park is home to over 3000 birds from more than 200 different species. The park is spread over 20.9 acres of lush greenery and is the perfect place to learn about the diverse birdlife in Malaysia. The students were excited to explore the park and learn about the different species of birds that call it home.
The trip began with a guided tour of the park. The students were separated into small groups, with each group lead by a teacher who provided an informative and fascinating tour of the park. The teachers talked about the different species of birds, their habitats, and their unique characteristics. Students were able to ask questions and learn more about the birds that piqued their attention.
One of the highlights of the trip was the chance to feed the ostriches. There are baskets full of lettuce laying on a counter for the students to freely feed the ostriches.
The ostriches are located behind a cage so students are perfectly safe and allowed to feed the birds by hand. They were amazed by how gentle and friendly the birds were and enjoyed the opportunity to get up close and personal with them.

The students also got to see several bird shows throughout the day. The shows featured different species of birds, including parrots, eagles, and owls. The shows were entertaining and informative and gave the students a chance to learn more about the behavior and habits of these amazing creatures.

Overall, the trip to the KL Bird Park was a huge success. The students had a fantastic time and learned a lot about the different species of birds in Malaysia. It was a great opportunity for them to get out of the classroom and explore the natural world around them. Templer Park International School is committed to providing its students with opportunities to learn and grow both inside and outside the classroom, and this trip was a perfect example of that commitment.
